West Elementary

West Elementary students were very excited for May 1st this year, it was West Science Day! Several agencies from Platte County presented the students with activities to demonstrate their profession. Platte County Weed and Pest’s presentation was on Ecosystems. We discussed how important it is to help keep the invasive plants and pests from taking over. The students drew and colored in a basic ecosystem, sun, land, water and one living organism. Mrs. Bookout drew a flower with a ladybug. Then we passed our papers to the left and each student drew their living organism on each paper that came around. Lots of artistry, discussion, and fun for an afternoon.
